Czech Titles.

Here’s a peak at the titles of the recut version of Sorcerer, called Wages Of Fear, taken from a Czech print of the film.

You can actually hear the original main theme by TD! I would like to view the Wages of Fear re-edit. This flyover is not shown in its entirety in the US Theatrical Release! Thanks !

Being from the Czech Republic, I was (un)fortunate to see this version from beginning to end. It was dubbed, but that was normal back then, that the movies in the theaters were dubbed. However, I’ve never seen any movie being so butchered. It barely made any sense and had I not seen the original cut, I would have no idea what’s going on. The movie clocked in about 90 minutes, all the prologues were cut and incorporated in the movie (usually silent shots without any explanation whatsoever), and there were some shots/alternate takes that were not in the Friedkin’s cut.

Thanks for writing in. I hate that this great movie’s reputation is shaped around the world by hack jobs like this. So glad you saw Friedkin’s version first!

Yeah, me too. By the way, thanks for this great blog, lots of great stuff here, I’m glad I found it!

Hey Toby, have you seen this clip on YouTube?

  4. Toby says:

Thanks, Leif! I hadn’t seen these.
