Sorcerer Blu-ray and DVD fact sheet.

Here’s the Sorcerer fact sheet for the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release (just a month away). Note the incorrect R rating. Will post more stuff as it comes in.

Thanks to Alvin Brickrock for sending this along.

About Toby

I'm a writer. And a dad. And a husband. And a record collector. And a movie geek (if the movies are old). And I really wish I had a hot rod.

I guess that means the new “title image” is final – Roy Scheider and a burning oil derrick. So be it. Nice shot from under the bridge, I don’t recall it from the film itself – maybe a production still? Note that the ropes hang slack and the very thick, vine-y ones are not yet there; further, the wooden crossbars are not as numerous as appears in the film itself. Thinking maybe this was done as the location was being prepped. As for “extras”, there’s no mention other than 40 pages of BF telling his side of the story.

OK, Toby, I am definitely standing by for the good news on that. AFI in Silver Spring, MD (not far from me) is showing TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. in mid-April and then their calendar ends at April 17. Really hoping they’re holding off saying more while trying to book the film on their biggest screen. Would be sweet, but I’ll be getting that BR at some point anyway.

  4. I wonder if the picture at the top is one of previous iterations of “the bridge” scene, or some totally different scene not included in any of 2 versions of the film, because I’ve seen the international one and there’s nothing like it there. I hope that of course there are some video materials with deleted scenes, b-rolls, some brief documentaries, etc., but worst case scenario, I hope there are at least some photos. And I’d be deeply pissed if that behind the scenes footage from New Jersey didn’t make it there. You know, the one that was up for a day or two on YouTube once until some guy got in touch with Friedkin.

  5. I’ve wondered about this unused shot and looks as if it was taken somewhere from the “Grind” montage, but of course we haven’t been shown that bit in the movie, you know, up in the mountains.

It would cool if the Tangerine Dream soundtrack was included as well. Hopefully a remastered soundtrack as well as a live recording of the band’s upcoming Sorcerer live show will be released, which there’s a high chance of that as Tangerine Dream releases a lot of their live shows as MP3’s from their site.

  7. Richard says:

Anyone know if friedkin has done a commentary for the bluray? I’ve seen no mention of one in the publicity materials.

  8. Andy K says:

Bill did a great intro for TD the other night
